Pink Brigade

The Pink Brigade was originally created by Chef Russell Impiazzi and Chef Robbie Stokes, a close friend of Jeffrey Brothers, Executive Chef of The Union Club of British Columbia.

While Chef Jeffrey was in Dubai, Chef Russell and Chef Robbie began the Pink Brigade as a fundraiser for breast cancer research and awareness. The original idea was to have Chefs' jackets embroidered with both the Chef's name and the breast cancer logo in pink. What started out as something small, resulted in over 1600 jackets being sold in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Chef Robbie's reasoning for wanting to drive awareness to this cause was due to his wife Claire. Claire Stokes was diagnosed with breast cancer four years ago, and Chef Robbie created the Pink Brigade initiative as a way for the culinary community to bring awareness to the cause. Unfortunately, Claire passed away this past January, ironically almost a year-to-the-day that Chef Jeffrey lost his father-in-law to cancer.

Chef Robbie Stokes has moved back to the United Kingdom, and has created the Pink Brigade UK. In Dubai, Chef Russell has continued the Pink Brigade UAE. Upon returning to Victoria, Chef Jeffrey thought “Why not Canada?”

In partnering with The Union Club of British Columbia, Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and Chef's Hat Inc., Executive Chef Jeffrey Brothers is pleased to announce the launch of “Pink Brigade Canada”!

Continuing with the original concept, the Pink Brigade Canada Chef Jackets and Bib Aprons will be ordered through Chef’s Hat Inc., and will feature the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation’s ribbon logo, embroidered in pink. For an additional cost, your name can also be embroidered (see enclosed order form for details). For every Chef's Jacket sold, $10 will be donated to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. For every Bib Apron sold, $5 will be donated to this truly deserving cause. Please keep in mind, these Jackets and Aprons aren't solely for the culinary professional. These can be ordered and worn with pride by anyone who wishes to support this cause – from Executive Chefs to home cooks, and everyone in between!
